Hearing implant users from all over the world have met under the banner of ‘World Music Meetings of Masters and Artists’. The Festival ‘Beats of Cochlea’ took place in Kajetany, Poland on July 8-10, 2019, hosted by Professor Henryk Skarżyński and the team of the World Hearing Center.

This year’s Festival was the fifth, jubilee edition and the organizers invited the laureates of previous editions to perform beside this year’s participants.

The first day of the Festival, July 8, scheduled the auditions of the participants who passed the first stage of qualifications. The jury selected the laureates to perform in the Gala Concert.

The following day, July 9, was filled with individual and group workshops – meetings of music masters and young artists, workshops on voice and breathing, instrumental workshops, stage image, and musical memory. All participants had the opportunity to play music and sing together. The day ended with a great musical meeting with the masters.

The crowning of this year’s jubilee edition was the Concert under the banner of ‘World Music Meetings of Masters and Artists’. The laureates of this year’s edition performed selected compositions, and the winners of the previous editions performed in duets or trios with musicians known from Polish and world stages.

In the concert, as in the previous year, a group of patients attending music therapy classes at the World Hearing Center offered a presentation of their musical skills.

As in previous years, the 5th Festival ‘Beats of Cochlea’ was organized under the auspices of the European Association of Cochlear Implant Users, EURO-CIU.

Among the 10 laureates was Anamaria Nastase from Romania, who performed on the Gala in both the 5th and the 1st editions.
